I’ve thought for years about the problem of size in relation to home canned food. It is a very good idea to bottle meat. Cherlynn’s goal is a top notch goal. I’m thinking for a single person that bottling meat in half pints is more realistic, especially if they normally eat smaller portions–like many women and some men. What are your thoughts on this?

Ramen noodles may not be all that healthy but if you can slip other things in and get kids to eat them for a snack they are a cheap alternative. I have a few stored for times when we have stomach upset and we need just a little bit to begin eating again. My goal is more meat this year too.

I hate Ramen Noodles! They are so very unhealthy! I do have a few plastic totes with Ramen for picky eaters. I have a lot of basic things like wheat, rice, beans, ect but things like meat, ect is getting built up. Our goal this year is to fill 8 cases of canning jars with various meats. Got 2 cases of pepperoni so far, hoping to get chicken and finish up with venison in the Fall. Your thing about the difference in gas prices and what it’s costing us! Imagine what it will be by Fall! Enjoyed the interaction a lot! Get lots of idea’s to think about!
